Is there parking?

There is free parking along Montrose Avenue, and pay-to-park along Montrose Harbor Drive.

 

What should I bring?

We encourage you to pack outdoor essentials such as a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and closed-toed shoes. Flipflops are a safety hazard and going barefoot is cause for injury. Casual or athletic wear are great choices for sailing. We provide lifejackets for all sailors during the duration of the lesson. Please wear weather-appropriate attire. If there is rain in the forecast, we recommend bringing an extra outfit to change into after the sailboat. 

 

What if it rains?

Please be sure to check the weather and pack appropriate clothing. We do not cancel due to rain. If weather proves to be threatening, such as lightning, high seas or winds over 15kts, class will be rescheduled. As sailors say, sheet happens!  We will be tracking all weather conditions (including temperature, wind patterns, and tide cycles) before and during the lesson for the crew’s safety. There is also a radio on board that can communicate with other boats and the Chicago Coast Guard if an emergency arises.

Is there a toilet on the boat?

Unfortunately the sailboats do not have a bathroom. Students must use the restroom before setting sail. There are private restrooms available near the dock for easy access.

Refund Policy?

Unfortunately we do not provide refunds. Please be sure you can make your booking on time. We can always reschedule for a better date.
